EVANS, William Travis (Will)

William Travis (Will/Bill) Evans, 55 of Hutto, Tex, passed away on September 30, 2007. Will is survived by his loving wife, Audrey (Melton) Evans; and sons, Hudson Clay and Lucas Noble Evans. Will was a 5th generation Texan. Born on September 16, 1952 in Austin. Thomas Z and Ann Eileen (Toni Rider) Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Z and Ann (Toni) Evans, brothers Brian and John Evans, and sister Eileen Ann Evans. Will is survived by his loving brothers and sisters, Tom and (Jeanne) of Buda Tx, James and Beverly of Cedar Park, Chris, Gene, Joe, Mary and (Don) Evans-Haywood, and Mercy (Evans) Ziegler all of Austin, Tx. Will graduated from Crocket High School in Austin and attended Blinn College in Brenham before joining the Armed Forces. Will served as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, Green Beret Special Forces and then as a member of the Texas National Guard. The Evans family was one of the earliest settlers of Hutto and the Williamson County area. Will was proud of his Texas heritage and enthusiastically promoted and helped organize family reunions throughout Texas. Will was a member of the Carpenters and Millwrights Union Local # 1266 in Austin and the Iron Workers Union in Dallas. He was a founding member of the Shiloh Cemetery Association in Hutto and the Hutto Chamber of Commerce. He was a hard worker, a friendly cheerful man with a wonderful sense of humor and a big heart. Respected by family and friends, he and will be missed, loved and remembered by all. Even through Bill’s illness he worked relentlessly on his “century old” home he was so proud of. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 7th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., at Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Normans Crossing, with Reverend John Gurley officiating. Interment will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery.
