HEES, Lydia Hilda Henrietta

Lydia Hilda Henrietta Randig Hees, passed away at her home on April 12, 2017 at the age of 81. Lydia was a life-long resident of the Pflugerville area growing up on a farm that is now Lake Pflugerville. She was the daughter of Willie and Bertha Randig. She graduated from Pflugerville High School in 1953 and was proud to have been a member of the first National Honor Society. After high school, Lydia moved to downtown Austin and worked at the Texas Insurance Checking Office. In 1956, Lydia married her high school sweetheart, Kermit Hees. They lived their life together for 60 years in the beautiful farming community of Richland Texas and were active members of the community. Lydia was a dedicated and involved member in the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and Sunday School, Richland Community Club, and the Richland 4-H Club. She always had a beautiful yard with many flowers and a big garden. Above all, Lydia was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Lydia is survived by her husband of 60 years, Kermit Hees. They had 2 daughters, Barbara Masi and husband Chris Masi of Pflugerville, and Dana Hees and husband Carl Dillon of Lexington, Kentucky. She was affectionately called “Nanny” by her 5 grandchildren: Brandon, Meredith and Erica Masi all of Pflugerville, and Renee and Rachel Dillon of Kentucky.

Lydia is also survived by sisters-in-law, Marie Randig and Doreen Randig and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lydia was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Walter Randig, Willie A. Randig Jr., Nelda Browning, Edmund Randig, and Marylin Randig.

Visitation will be April 19th from 6-8 pm at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Funeral service will be April 20th at 2 pm at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church with burial following in the church cemetery.

JANKE, Janice Faye, 75, of Bartlett died Saturday. Visitation 10 a.m. and services 11 a.m. Thursday, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Teinert Recreation Center, Bartlett. Burial St. John’s Cemetery. Arrangements by Goodnight, Bartlett.

SPINN, Charles William

Charles William Spinn of Granger passed away on January 21, 2013 in Round Rock.

He was born February 26, 1944 to Charles and Elsie Weige Spinn. He married Vickie Kolinek on September 24, 1966. Charles was a long time employee of the City of Austin, Department of Water and Wastewater, but was always a farmer and rancher at heart and returned to his passion after retirement in 1993. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Elsie Weige Spinn, one brother Elroy “Pete” Spinn and two sisters Darlene Liska and Bertha Noack.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Vickie, two daughters Charlotte Vangsnes of Arvada, CO and Michelle Farris and husband Don of Hutto and four cherished grandchildren Ryan and Tim Vangsnes and Riley and Karsyn Farris. He is also survived by one brother Elton “Buck” Spinn of Granger and three sisters Charlyne Schroeder and husband Wilford of Austin, Billie Baumbach and husband Delton of Mineral Wells and Nell Zrubek and husband Ben of Austin.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Providence Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 25, 2013 at Providence Funeral Home with Rev. James Hejl officiating. Burial to follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Bartlett. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Taylor Brethren Church.
