Peggy Joyce Hamann Baker beloved mother and grandmother passed away on March 4, 2013.

She was born in Taylor, Texas on December 16, 1926 to Olga and Awald (A.B.) Hamann. Peggy was a loving homemaker for many years before beginning her career at the State of Texas Governor’s Office of Accounting. After retiring from the State of Texas, she worked as church secretary at Asbury United Methodist church for many years.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents. She is lovingly survived by her children Craig Scheffel of Lake Travis and Pam Cearley of Austin; grandchildren Jennifer Scheffel, Waikiki, HI, Jason Cearley and wife Cori, Leander, TX, Christopher Cearley, Long Beach, CA, Nathan Scheffel, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC; three great-grandchildren, Ambrose, Avery and Hudson Jasper and one great-great-grandson, Aiden.

She is also preceded in death by Ewald J. Scheffel, father of her two children. Her deep faith and gentle words of encouragement will remain in our hearts forever. She will be missed by all who were blessed to have crossed paths with her.

Memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Cook Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Austin.
