BUBENIK, Roger Wayne

Roger Wayne Bubenik, 61, of Cedar Park, Texas began his eternal life on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Roger was born on May 15, 1948 in San Angelo, Texas to Julius and Delories Bubenik who directed his baptism into the Christian faith. He grew up on the family farm in Veribest, Texas. During his family’s Christmas vacation in 1964, he met Frances Stanzel. He later moved to Houston where they married on April 15, 1967. Their marriage was blessed with three children. Roger’s occupation as a plumber lead to his discovery of the booming FM 1960 area where they attended two local churches, St. Edward’s and later Good Shepherd. Roger had an unparalleled personality. He was a very active member of the Ponderosa Volunteer Fire Department and the Humble Bass Club. He was involved with youth sports in the area. Roger was an extreme Houston Oilers fan. His obsession for the great outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, has been proudly passed on to his children and grandchildren. Roger was preceded in death by his mother, Delories and his father-in-law, Frank Stanzel. He is survived by his father, Julius, and four younger brothers and spouses, Dennis, Danny and Debbie, James and Cindy, and David and Rhonda. He is also survived by his parents-in-law, James and Oline LaBelle and their children, spouses, and grandchildren. Roger leaves behind Frances, his devoted wife of 43 years, and their children, Dwayne Bubenik and Mary Caufman, Shane and Crestie Bubenik, and Rochelle and James Kinter. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Miranda, Lauren, Alex, Elizabeth, Michelle, Thomas, Hunter, EmmaRose, and the soon expected Isabelle. His is survived by a multitude of other extended family members, including his family congregation of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and his devoted friend, Cliff Kuxhouse. We would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to all of the friends, caregivers and medical professionals who assisted his family with his care. Although Roger relied on them for his physical needs, he was unaware of the effects he was having on everyone who met him. Roger will have many friends in heaven telling him thank you. Visitation will be Friday, May 7, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home, 1700 Whitestone, Cedar Park, TX with the opportunity to share your memories.
