Cara Elise Cameron of Cedar Park, TX passed away on March 16, 2017 at the age of 41. She was born on July 15, 1975 in Little Rock, AR.
Cara resided in Shreveport, LA and Grand Prairie, TX prior to moving to the Austin area. She graduated with honors from Tarrant County College, in Ft. Worth, TX in 2000 and received her professional license as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Seton Medical Center/Brackenridge Hospital for 15 years and cared for infants in the NICU and the newborn nursery. She was a defender of the lives of the unborn and an advocate against the abuse or mistreatment of children. In 2015, she transitioned to pediatric home healthcare and worked for Pediatric Healthcare Connection and Epic Health Services.. She loved babies and children and looked forward to taking care of them for many years to come. Sadly, her dream was not to be fulfilled.
Cara was a cancer survivor–battling back from Triple Negative breast cancer—one of the most deadly forms of the disease. She completed her treatments in October, 2016 and we wish to thank Texas Oncology and their dedicated staff of doctors and nurses who helped her to win the battle.
Cara loved cats and adopted several from area animal shelters. She will be remembered for both her love of children and animals.
Cara accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized in late 2000. She attended First Assembly of God in Leander TX and had recently joined the Praise Team.
Cara is survived by her mother and step-father, Gayle and Claud Morris, Bertram, TX. Father, Fred Hicks, Jr. of Jacksonville. AR, half-sister, Brooke Smith and her husband, Springdale, AR, step-sister, Kim Jones and her husband, League City. TX numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is also survived by her much-loved cats, Thai and Roxy.

Place: First Assembly of God Leander TX.
