Julian B. Castro of Austin, 72 our beloved dad went to see our heavenly father on Jan 12, 2013 after a lengthy battle with esophageal cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Mary Helen Castro and four daughters, Mary Ann and husband Robert L. Martinez Jr. of Taylor Tx. Hope, Julie Christine and Tracy Castro all of Austin. He is preceded in death by his son at birth Julian Castro Jr. and parents Maximino and Maria Eufemia Castro, brothers Vicente and Moses Castro of Austin. He is also survived by siblings Emily Moreno, Paula Herrera, Jose and wife Pauline Castro and Jesse and wife Nina Castro all of Austin. He also had 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Julian had several jobs in his lifetime, most recently employed with Covert Buick Body Shop of Austin as a painter for 33 years until his retirement in 2009. He made many friends while working there, earning the title of “Daddy” by his coworkers.

Many thanks to Dr. Punit Chadha and his staff for their loving care for more than three years. We would also like to thank Hospice Austin for their care. He will be missed dearly by all. Visitaiton will be held at Mission Funeral Home in Austin Texas on Jan 15, 2013 from 11am-9pm. A Rosary will begin at 7pm Tuesday. A church service will be held at Cristo Rey Catholic Church on Jan 16, 2013 at 10am with procession to Assumption Cemetery ensuing services.
