Al Clawson, age 62, went to be with our Lord and Savior on November 10, 2008, in Jarrell, TX. Al was born on October 11, 1946, in Austin, Texas to Hubert and Marjorie Clawson. Al married Fannie Williams on December 18, 1963, and they spent 44 wonderful years together. Al was an extraordinary man who never gave up, whose courage and value for family were an inspiration to us all. Al valued God and family above all. He was a wonderful husband, Dad, Papa, brother, uncle, and friend.
Al Clawson was president of Al Clawson Disposal, Inc., which he started as a one-man, one-truck, sole-proprietorship in 1982. As his business grew, he added employees who were treated as family. His guiding principles for quality service and customer value will be carried on through the next generation.
Al found joy in a variety of hobbies. He enjoyed playing music throughout his lifetime. Most recently, he was a member of the band that played at the Senior Meal Luncheons in Jarrell on Mondays. He spent countless hours fishing with a multitude of family and friends. Al also enjoyed classic cars.
Al Clawson will be missed greatly by his loving family: wife, Fannie Clawson; son, Troy Clawson and wife Cynthia; daughters, Terri Haley and husband Kris, Tanya Clawson, Tammy Chavez-Gomez, and Tiffany Clawson; all of Jarrell; grandchildren, Travis Clawson, Thomas Clawson, Carrie Clawson, Kristen Haley, Hope Haley, Jacob Haley, William Blake, Marjorie Blake, Tony Chavez-Gomez and John Chavez-Gomez. Al Clawson was a model grandpa who loved his grandchildren. Papa loved to take his grandkids fishing and hunting. He loved to play his guitar and sing with the grandkids. Also left to cherish his memory are brother, Cecil Dale Clawson and wife Alice of Manor; sisters, Patsy Wallace of Lampasas, and Nancy Glover and husband Frank of Florence. In addition, he was loved by numerous nieces and nephews.
