CLUCK, Orin S., Jr.

Orin S. Cluck, Jr., age 80, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2006 in Austin, Texas. He was predeceased by his parents, Orin and Ada Cluck; two brothers, Bud and J.D. and one sister, Aileen Walker. Orin is survived by his wife, Marjorie Cluck; four children, Tracy Cluck and his wife, Alicia, Terri Kelly and her husband, Kirk, Cathy Cooper and Michelle Hainze and her husband, Thomas; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, G.V. Cluck, Sonny Cluck and Charles Cluck and his wife, Betty; brother-in-law, J.T. Walker and numerous nephews and nieces. Orin served as a radio operator in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Laffey. He had a distinguished career as a police officer with the Austin Police Department and the Austin Park Rangers (now Austin Park Police). Orin helped found the Texas Park Peace Officer’s Association and was proud to be a Charter Member. During his lifetime, he also managed Sprinkle’s Body Shop in Austin, taught at Gary Job Corp. Center in San Marcos and owned and operated the Orin Cluck Co. and, along with his son, Traco Satellite Systems in Austin. After retirement, Orin continued working for Smith Security in Austin where he was often recognized for his professionalism. Orin was proud of his service to his country, his community and most of all to his family. A graveside memorial service for family and friends will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2006 at Cedar Park Cemetery in Cedar Park, Texas with Reverend Gordon Bergstrom of Kinney Avenue Baptist Church officiating.
