Ethel May (Allison) Pratt

Following is the obituary of my gg-aunt, Ethel May (ALLISON) PRATT, b. 1892 Milam County, d. 1995 Young County, TX.

She was the 9th of 11 children born to Andrew Jackson ALLISON (b. 1855 Williamson County) and Sarah Alice REVEAL, b. 1857 Bell County) and was the last surviving child.

She was a granddaughter of pre-Republic of Texas pioneers James A. ALLISON, b. 1810 Hardeman County, TN, and Delilah HOWARD, b. 1812 Hardeman County, TN, both of whom died in 1874 in Williamson County, TX, and are buried at the ALLISON-Friendship Cemetery.

Ethel’s other grandparents were Joseph W. REVEAL, b. 1812 IN, d. 1910 and buried at Taylor (City) Cemetery, Williamson County, TX, and Arvazena WILLIAMSON, who died abt. 1860 in Bell County, burial place unknown. Joseph then married Elizabeth SPARKS BRYANT, b. 1836 during the Runaway Scrape, who was a daughter of William Crain SPARKS and the widow of Napolean Lafayette BRYANT, who had given his life to the Texas Confederacy.

OBITUARY – MARCH 7, 1995

GRAHAM, TEXAS – Ethel M. Pratt, 103, who operated several businesses in Young County for more than 40 years, died Sunday [March 5, 1995] at a nursing home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, with burial to be at Restland Cemetery in Olney. She was a member of Eastside Church of Christ.

Mrs. Pratt was born in 1892 in Milam County. She married William Henry PRATT in 1910. Mr. Pratt died in 1950.

Mrs. Pratt’s survivors are one daughter, Motee Ragle of Graham; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.”
