Lenard “Buck” Gattis, 77 of Cedar Creek, TX returned home to be with the Lord and reunite with his parents, Erie and Alma Gattis, and sister Sylvia Bassett, on Saturday March 9, 2013. Buck was born on September 21, 1935 in Garfield, TX.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce of 55 years. Brothers, Walter Gattis of Thrall, David Gattis of Thrall, Alvin (Shirley) Gattis of Garfield, and sister Cynthia (Douglas) Hamrick of Garfield. One son, Lenard E. Gattis (Christy) of Garfield. Three daughters, Debra Gattis (Thomas Boyd), Peggy Gattis, Becky Kamp, all of Cedar Creek. Seven grandchildren, Gary “Luke” (Jeannie) Gattis, Misty (Dustin) miertschin, Kandi Kamp, Jenna Gattis, Kristin Gattis, Bree (Jeffrey) Hanna, Christopher (Meagan) Roark. Eight great-grandchildren, Kaylen, Kasey, Bryan, Shelby, Hailey, Bryce, Savanna, BobbyIII, Laynie and Daeton. Also many nieces, nephews, and Friends. In his working days, Buck made a lot of friends out on the highways and in the construction business. (Gattis Ditching & Trucking).
To be called his friend was truly an honor for so many. Buck will be remembered as a man’s man, who believed in hard work and self sacrifice. “Work hard everyday, help when you can, and walk slow” Services will be held on March 30th @ 1:00 P.M. at Haynie Chapel in Garfield TX.
