Kenneth E. Heallen, 79, of Hutto, Texas passed away on April 25, 2013.

He was born on December 14, 1933 in Santa Anna, Texas to Otha & Minnie Heallen. His family later moved to Austin and he graduated from Austin High School and served 2 years in the Navy. He received his BA and MEd from Southwest Texas State Teacher’s College and spent 39 years in education. He taught business and was high school principal at LaVernia ISD, assistant principal at Rancier Junior High in Killeen ISD, high school counselor in Boling ISD, ending his career as principal of Popham Elementary and Human Resources Director at Del Valle ISD. He was a member of the Del Valle Lions Club for many years. He is a member of Hutto Discovery United Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters. He is survived by Sherlene, his wife of 44 years; two daughters, Tracy Brown and husband David and Lisa Gonzales and husband John; three grandchildren, Olivia Gonzales, J.D. Gonzales and Mackenzie Brown; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will greet guests at a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Hutto Discovery United Methodist Church. Following services an escorted procession will lead the family and guests to Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery for committal services.
