HEISCH, Henry Ray “Jack”

Henry Ray “Jack” Heisch, 78, died Sunday, May, 27, 2007. Jack was born January 14, 1929, in Laneport, Texas, Williamson County, to Jack Ernest and Pearl (Bice) Heisch. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m.,, Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Granger Brethren Church, with Reverend Tommy Tallas officiating. Burial will follow at Granger Brethren Cemetery. Jack served in the United States Army in the Korean War from 1951 until 1952. He married Geraldine Tallas on June 3, 1954. He earned a BS in Education from the University of Texas at Austin which inspired a life long love of teaching. He later earned a Master of Education Administration from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Jack began his 30 year high school teaching career in Granger, Texas, and retired from Round Rock High School after 23 years. He truly loved teaching all of his students, particularly his students working towards their GED. He also drove a school bus for many years. After his retirement from teaching he served on the Board of the Williamson County Appraisal District. Jack was an active member of the Granger Brethren Church, the Granger Lions Club and served on the 10 year planning board for Granger ISD. He enjoyed spending time in his vegetable garden and fishing with his friends and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and infant sister. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Geraldine Tallas Heisch, of Granger; daughter Jeane Johnson and husband Dan of Round Rock; sons Randy and wife Janice of Georgetown, Rory and wife Tasha of Belton, and Roddy and wife Denise of Houston. He was loved by his 10 grandchildren who survive him, Stephen, Michael and Joel Johnson of Round Rock; Phillip and Rachel Heisch of Georgetown; Katelyn, Kyle, and Kristen Heisch of Belton; and Sarah and David Heisch of Houston. He is also survived by his brother- in-law Reverend Tommy Tallas and wife Donna and niece Krista Coffman and nephew Thomas Tallas. Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen, Michael and Joel Johnson, Phillip and David Heisch, and Thomas Tallas. Honorary pallbearers will be Sarah, Rachel, Katelyn, Kyle, and Kristen Heisch. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Granger Brethren Church Building Fund.
