Barbara Ellen Williams Hoover died peacefully at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2010, at the age of 97. She was survived by her daughter, Gayle Morris of Austin; grandsons, Steve (Joye) French of Austin, David (Jina) Morris of Pflugerville; granddaughters, Denise (Richard) Moczygemba of Killeen, Marinda Morris of Perryopolis, Pennsylvania, Sonya (Paul) Long of Round Rock; great- grandchildren, Jodi French, Donny French and Walter Moczygemba of Austin, Brak Ann Billingsley of Los Angeles, California, Amos Moczygemba of Terre Haute, Indiana, Whitney Morris and Allison Morris of Pflugerville, Mariah Hayden, Jordyn Hayden and Alex Long of Round Rock; and one great-great granddaughter, Hayley Billingsley of Killeen. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, George Watson “GW” Hoover (2000), parents, Louis Arthur “LA” Williams (1966) and Marinda Gilmore Williams (1967); brothers, Hester Williams (1975), Walter Williams (1931), Ted Williams (1996), Dan Williams (1998), Albert Williams (2003); sister, Dell Barnes (1997); and daughter, Jeanne French (2007). Barbara Ellen Williams was born June 14, 1913, in Inez, Texas, and raised in Georgetown. She was married in Austinto GW Hoover on April 13, 1934, and lived in Austin all her married life. She was a devoted wife and mother working alongside her husband on 6th Street at Hoover’s Cleaning and Alteration and later at Cut Rate Paint and Wallpaper. She was an accomplished seamstress making beautiful clothes and quilts. She also knitted and crocheted gorgeous sweaters, clothes, afghans and household items. Barbara was an excellent cook and made especially delicious pies and desserts. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved being with her family and was always supportive and loyal. We will miss our Mamaw and Mother so very much. There will be a viewing with visitation at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetownon, Monday, July 5, 2010, from 6:00 – 8:00. The graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Wesley Chapel Cemetery near Andice at FM2338 and Fisher Road.
