HOPPE, Max Nolan

Max Nolan Hoppe was born November 26, 1919 in Thorndale, Texas. He passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 at age 93.

Max was retired from the Air Force and Internal Revenue Service.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris, and grandson, Johnny. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Joy and Andy Crites. Max also leaves behind 3 grandsons, 13 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Max’s life story is admired by all who love him; a highly decorated World War II military veteran, dedicated government employee, devoted husband, loving father, and caring grandfather. Max loved working in his garden, planting and caring for his fruit and pecan trees, hunting with his grandsons, and telling stories of the “good ole’ days.” His family will miss his contagious smile and dry sense of humor. Not only did he enjoy life, Max shared life with those around him.

Open visitation Wednesday, May 1, 2013 6-8 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 1200 S. Bagdad Rd. Leander, TX 78641. Graveside services will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas, at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013.
