LEE, Vernon

Vernon Glen Lee, 83, of Austin, Texas passed away on January 20, 2013.

He was born October 21, 1929 in Houston, Texas to Thomas R. Lee and Alma Lee. He had worked as a Postal Clerk for the US Postal Service until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Maynor Hanks, and his sister-in-law, Lanelle Lee. He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Nelda Mae Dunn Lee, to whom he was married for 56 years; his children, Rhonda Shoemaker and her husband, Bill, of Pflugerville, Glen Lee and his wife, Brenda, of Leander, Stephen Lee and his wife, Tracy, of Bertram; his sister, Kathryn Hanks of Ira, Texas; brother, Tom R. Lee, Jr. of Sweetwater, Texas; sister-in-law, Kathleen Moore and her husband, Jimmy, of Cedar Hill; sister-in-law, Connie Dunn and Jim Broom of Austin; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and his “constant companion”, Dexter the dog.

A memorial service will be conducted at half past eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 23rd of January 2013, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
