August Joseph “AJ” Ludwig Stark, age 71, of Austin, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011. He was born in Austin, Texas on December 7, 1939 to parents August Hilmer and Tina Pauline (Anderson) Stark. He married Patti Habermann on February 4, 1961 in Austin. AJ was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved 50’s music, the outdoors, gardening, and the love of his life “His beloved Wife Patti” of 50 years! He was very country outdoorsman. AJ was very agile man who could chase down and catch horses, deer and any other four footed animal he was after. While working for UT Austin he chased down a locker room thief and held him down until security could get there. In other words nothing could escape him if he was determined to catch them. He is preceded in death by his parents Hilmer and Tina Stark and a brother David Stark. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patti Stark of Austin; children, Lisa Rodriguez and husband Greg of Sugarland, Texas, Becky Kubiak and husband Brian of Elgin, and Daniel Stark and wife Dayle of Horseshoebay; grandchildren, Cody Kubiak, Chandler, Dalton and Savannah Stark, and Chloe and Cole Rodriguez; siblings, Katherine Rolff, Dorothy Farmer, Fannie Bonnet, and Martha Bonnet; sister- in-law, Margaret Habermann; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011 in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Berry’s Creek Cemetery in Georgetown. Serving as pallbearers will be Lloyd Farmer, James Bonnet Jr., Raymond Bonnet Jr., Johnny Wayne Rogers, Cody Kubiak, and Dalton Stark.
