SUMMERVILLE, Lou Jeannette

Lou Jeannette Summerville, 78, of Dana, Indiana died at 2:35 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2008 in Gracy Woods II Nursing Center in Austin, Texas. She was the retired owner of Summerville Sundries in Dana. She was born June 9, 1930 in Clinton, Indiana to the late Birdie Hanner Hamm and Lula Opal Britton Hamm. On June 27, 1948 she married May Ray Summerville; he preceded her in death December 14, 1969. Survivors include one son, Scott A. Summerville of Nashville, Tennessee; two daughters, Janet (Al) Wargo of Austin, Texas and Jill (Charles) Sparks of Washington, Indiana; three grandchildren, Brandy Bartusch, Heather Yonce, and Stephanie Yonce; three great-grandchildren, Jamie Bartusch, Nicole Bartusch, and Kayden Yonce. She was a 1948 graduate of Dana High School. She was a member of the Dana United Methodist Church and the Dana 49ers. Services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, in Overpeck-Gooch Funeral Home at 225 Maple St. Dana, with the Rev. Donald A. Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery at Scottland, Illinois. Visitation is from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Overpeck-Gooch Funeral Home.
