Bessie Jarmon Wiley was born in Beaukiss, Texas to Theodore and Bertha Jarmon on July 24, 1900. She was one of six children all of whom are now deceased. On December 18, 1920, she married Otto Wiley and was the mother of two children, Muriel and Jarmon. Her life work was as a homemaker and she enjoyed working at the Elgin Hospital as a “Pink Lady”. She was adored by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as by many others in her family. She died at 102 at Park Bend Health Center in Austin, Texas where she was much loved. She is survived by Muriel Westbrook; four grandchildren, 13 great- grand children, and seven great-great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Elgin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Beaukiss Cemetery near her husband, Otto Wiley. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Elgin or charity of choice.
