Joseph A. Zepeda, age 66, of Elgin, Texas, passed away from cancer on September 3, 2004. He was born in Gallup, New Mexico, on December 29, 1937. He moved to Corpus Christi at age six. Joseph graduated from Roy Miller High School and served in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Zepeda. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Jane Zepeda; his son, Joseph A. Zepeda III; daughter, Susan Belvin and son-in-law, Michael; daughter, Elisabeth Walleck and son- in-law, Ronald; daughter, Crystal; granddaughter, Ashley Walleck; grandson, Austin Walleck; surrogate grandchildren, Jordan and Hayden Belvin; sister, Amelia Duncan; brother, Roland Zepeda and his wife, Linda; brother, Charles Zepeda and his wife, Janet; and sister, Rebecca Marez. The family would like to express their sincere thanks for all the loving support and countless prayers offered for Joseph during his illness. Recitation of Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 6, 2004, at Newby/Jones Family Funeral Home Chapel in Elgin. Mass of Resurrection will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elgin. Interment to follow at Beaukiss Cemetery in Beaukiss.
