CARTER, Bertha Elizabeth

Bertha Elizabeth Carter, 82, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in Georgetown, Texas. She was a long time resident of Georgetown, and was a special joy to all who knew her. Bertha passed away peacefully in her daughter’s home, at 5:52 am with her family at her side. She will be remembered as a loving and precious mother and grandmother.

Bertha was born on July 1, 1934 in Chriesman, Texas, to Frank and Olive Eichinger. She grew up in a large, loving family with nine brothers and seven sisters. Bertha married James Bennett Carter on September 27, 1952, in Maysfield, Texas.

Bertha is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers and three sisters.

Bertha is survived by her children; son Stephen Carter and daughter-in-law, Peggy Carter of Tracy, Ca., son James Carter of Round Rock, son David Carter and daughter-in-law Melody Carter of San Antonio, daughter Rebecca Clark and son-in-law William Clark of Georgetown; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers,four sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation with the family is scheduled from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. The funeral is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, also at Ramsey Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at 3:30 pm at the Beaukiss Cemetery in Beaukiss, Texas. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bertha’s life.

ZEPEDA, Joseph A.

Joseph A. Zepeda, age 66, of Elgin, Texas, passed away from cancer on September 3, 2004. He was born in Gallup, New Mexico, on December 29, 1937. He moved to Corpus Christi at age six. Joseph graduated from Roy Miller High School and served in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Zepeda. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Jane Zepeda; his son, Joseph A. Zepeda III; daughter, Susan Belvin and son-in-law, Michael; daughter, Elisabeth Walleck and son- in-law, Ronald; daughter, Crystal; granddaughter, Ashley Walleck; grandson, Austin Walleck; surrogate grandchildren, Jordan and Hayden Belvin; sister, Amelia Duncan; brother, Roland Zepeda and his wife, Linda; brother, Charles Zepeda and his wife, Janet; and sister, Rebecca Marez. The family would like to express their sincere thanks for all the loving support and countless prayers offered for Joseph during his illness. Recitation of Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 6, 2004, at Newby/Jones Family Funeral Home Chapel in Elgin. Mass of Resurrection will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elgin. Interment to follow at Beaukiss Cemetery in Beaukiss. WILEY, Bessie Jarmon

Bessie Jarmon Wiley was born in Beaukiss, Texas to Theodore and Bertha Jarmon on July 24, 1900. She was one of six children all of whom are now deceased. On December 18, 1920, she married Otto Wiley and was the mother of two children, Muriel and Jarmon. Her life work was as a homemaker and she enjoyed working at the Elgin Hospital as a “Pink Lady”. She was adored by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as by many others in her family. She died at 102 at Park Bend Health Center in Austin, Texas where she was much loved. She is survived by Muriel Westbrook; four grandchildren, 13 great- grand children, and seven great-great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Elgin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Beaukiss Cemetery near her husband, Otto Wiley. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Elgin or charity of choice. SEIGMUND, Wilbert Archibald

SEIGMUND, Wilbert, 81, of Taylor died Sunday. Visitation 6 p.m. Thursday, Providence Funeral Home, Taylor. Services 2 p.m. Friday, Hutto Lutheran Church, Hutto. Burial Beaukiss Cemetery, near Elgin.

He died April 15, 2007.


SEIGMUND, Jona Lee

Jona Lee Seigmund, 74, of Lexington, Tex., passed away on Friday, May 9, 2008. Jona Lee was a homemaker, rancher, and operated the Seigmund General Store in McDade from 1980 until 1992. She was a member of the Knobbs Springs Baptist Church. She married August George Seigmund on June 16, 1951. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Walters and husband Riley of Wylie, Tex., Brenda Nickel of Lexington, Tex.; and son, Warren Seigmund and wife Teresa of Lexington, Tex.; her grandchildren, Kimberly Bostic, Kenny Merrell, August Walters, Wesley Seigmund, Suann Walters, William Seigmund, and Brittany Nickel; great-grandchildren, Zane Bostic, Dalton and Skylar Walters. She was preceded in death by her husband August George Seigmund; parents, Joel Rufus and Emma Lee Bownds; sister, Nelta Rhea Sallis; and brother, William Bownds. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Monday May 12, 2008, at the Elgin Funeral Home. The family wishes to receive guest from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Knobbs Springs Baptist Church in McDade, Texas, on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Brother Geary McManus will be officiating. MEYER, Charles E.

Charles E. Meyer Charles E. Meyer, 63, of Austin passed away Saturday, April 21, 2007. He was born February 29, 1944 to Kurt and Ollie (Baker) Meyer in Porter, Texas. He was presently the Director, of Agency Development Texas Region for AmCOMP. He had a career in the insurance field for over 45 years. He is survived by his wife Norah Linder of Austin; daughter Shelly Tucker and husband Rick of Buda, step-daughter Tina Russell and husband Mac of Kyle; son Brian Marak and wife Angela of Leander, step-son Tony Linder and wife Lori of Austin; one grand-daughter Charlie Gracen Tucker, seven step-grandchildren; sisters Shirley Sladek of Temple and Juanita Grande and husband Mike of Palm Coast, Fl., brother Willie Meyer and his friend Verna Lou Anderson of Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Freddy. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 25, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Condra Funeral Home. DE GLANDON, Louise O.

Louise De Glandon, passed away on Christmas Day. She was born on October 12, 1922, in Beaukiss, Texas. She was the daughter of S.R. Carter and Alma Carter. She married M.L. (Crick) De Glandon on July 19, 1948. She was a resident of Austin, Texas, and a long time member of Crestview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Janet Renee De Glandon. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, and sister Winette Wheless, both of Austin. She was a loving wife and mother. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2008, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2008, at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Beaukiss Cemetery in Beaukiss, Texas.


CARTER, James Bennett

James Bennett Carter, age 77, of Georgetown, formerly of Austin, passed away on June 4, 2003 in Temple, Texas. Mr. Carter was born on March 26, 1926 in Los Angeles, Texas to James Allen and Myrtle Hargrove Carter. He married Bertha Eichinger on September 27, 1952 in Maysfield, Texas. Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Bertha Carter; and his children: sons, Stephen and his wife, Peggy of Tracy, California, James Allen II and his wife, Angela of Pflugerville, David M. and his wife, Melody of San Antonio; and daughter, Rebecca Clark and her husband, Bill of Haskell, Texas. He also leaves behind two sisters, Joyce Deglandon of Austin and Mardelle Arnold of Cureo, Texas; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Carter was a member of Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown. He served in the Army during WW II. Mr. Carter owned and operated a Dixie Cream Donut Shop in Georgetown from 1971 until 1978. He then began working for Mc Neil Pharmaceutical in the Manufacturing Division, retiring after twelve years. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2003 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 N. IH 35, Georgetown, Texas. Services will be held on June 7, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown, Texas with the Reverend Dan Wooldridge officiating. Burial will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Beaukiss Cemetery in Beaukiss, Texas. Pallbearers will be members of Mr. Carters Sunday School Class. CARTER, Normadene Moore

NORMADENE MOORE CARTER, 86, of Beaukiss entered into her eternal rest on November 27, 2014. She was born November 13, 1928, in Granger to Lewis Moore and Bessie Cathey Moore. She was a graduate of Granger High School in 1946. She worked for Hill Grain and Mikulencak Store right out of High School. She attended Nursing school, where she had a career of 30 years. She then found her true passion selling Real Estate. For 20 years she sold Real Estate and was named Top Producer of Williamson County Association of Realtors in 1994. Normadene was dedicated and hard working. She retired in 2006.

Normadene is survived by her loving husband of 50 years; B.C. Carter, two daughters; Cathey Padron (Isidro Padron), Lee Ann Hamer (Mike Hamer), step-son Darrell Zieschang (Barbara Zieschang), five grandchildren; Clint Brewer, Sheila Pausewang (Joseph Pausewang), Kris Brewer, Abby Hamer and Carter Hamer, two great grandchildren; Shelby Pausewang and Austin Pausewang, niece; Dana Moore Oldenstadt, nephews; Tom Moore (Linda Moore), Jim Moore, John Moore (Mari-Anne Moore), David Moore, friends and church family.

Normadene was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Moore and Bessie Cathey Moore, and brother Lynn Moore.

Normadene was an active member at First Shiloh Baptist Church for 50 years. She showed her Christian faith by treating people with love and respect.

Normadene was truly an amazing woman. She was known for her honesty, kind and gentle demeanor, and was loved by many. Her ability to see the truth in any situation was just one of the attributes that her friends and family will remember most. She touched many peoples’ lives. Family favorites include her famous peanut brittle, fried chicken, crispy tacos, chicken fried steak, and jalapeƱo rice.

A precious one from us has gone
A voice we loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has recalled,
The moon his love had given,
And though the body slumbers here
The soul is safe in Heaven.
